Granted we aren’t regular contributors to the mashup blogosphere but we always appreciate a quality effort! We had a nice little present arrive in our promo box this week courtesy of one of Ireland’s finest Reuben Keeney. It’s no secret we’re fans of Reuben’s previous work (his fantastic ‘Give It Some Time’ release on Toolroom was featured on WWD last year) and it’s always exciting to have an Irish talent making progress on an international level. Still riding high from the release of ‘Get Hyped’ on Mixmash (as well as receiving support from the likes of Nicky Romero & David Guetta of late) Reuben looks set to continue his solid run of form with releases on a number of high profile monikers including the prestigious Dim Mak over the coming months.
Now to more pressing matters, his new ‘Blend’ is a combo of two of our personal favourites. The colourful electro tones of Mord Fustang track ‘Taito’ and the soft vocals of Snow Patrol are blended together effortlessly. It gives an added dimension to an already powerful track and we can certainly see this one figuring in some big sets over the coming months. Free download makes it all the sweeter. Enjoy!
