In a sign of their continued progress Dublin based promoters Residence have embarked upon a new venture in one of the capitals signature venues The Button Factory. Their first move in their new home is to bring renowned DJ, producer and Circo Loco favourite Matthias Tanzmann to town. An exciting development and after the visit of fellow Circo Locian Davide Squillace back in January, certainly a welcome one.
The German native has amassed a hugh following since his early days at the much loved ‘Distillery’ in Leipzig. He is somewhat a rarity in the modern dance game given his reputation has most been garnered thanks to his djing prowess. A master of the groove his driving tech house sets have been lighting up DC10 and various venues around the world for years. Anyone who has caught a glimpse of those massive DC10 sit downs will no doubt agree (B2B with pal Squillace is a devastating combo).
That’s not to say he hasn’t released his fair share of stompers. Originals like Konoa, Rugby and Anyway stand up against the finest tech house gems as well as remixing for giants Moby, Booka Shade and Josh Wink. As a final feather in his cap Tanzmann is chief coordinator at Moon Harbour often showing off his keen ear for a track. On the whole the show is a sumptuous prospect for any Ibizan connoisseur and considering the weather we’re having at the moment it’s the perfect compliment. Considerable buzz about this one and WWD will certainly be in attendance.
