Subject host the return one of the pioneers of Detroit Techno, Derrick May, this Sunday for an incredibly appetizing extended set (3-4 hours). For those unfamiliar, May is one of the Belleville Three. Alongside Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, his work in what would become to be known as Techno formed part of the necessary spark for the genre to grow. This is definitely one for those looking to develop their knowledge and understanding of Techno and its history. I’m sure he’ll be cracking out some serious classics, we’re hoping for a bit “Strings Of Life” ourselves, one of the best from his Rhythim Is Rhythim days. Big up to Subject for a fine booking!
