Sense & Bedlam: Butler Arrives In Town

What a formidable weekend of gigs lies ahead of us in Dublin! With so many talented artists regularly showing their wares in our fair capital it seems you are never far away from seeing on of your favourites tweet a pic of a pint of the hallowed black stuff and arrive ready to meet one of Europe’s most eager crowds. This week is the turn of the prestigious talent known as Josh Butler (Madtech, Cajual and MTA Records) who has been churning out quality releases over the past 2 years and developed quite a following for himself in Ireland and the wider UK.

Coming off the back of a stellar three track Situation EP on the imprint of Green Velvet – Cajual Records, the UK based producer pulled somewhat of a gem from his studio efforts with the fantastic We Found A Place alongside fellow up and comer Bontan and vocalist Josh Barry. Dropping this Monday on MTA Records it looks set to be another smash for the pair who also enjoyed massive success with Got A Feeling last year. With releases of similar quality on the likes of Madtech and Lost Records it appears Butler is a man whose star is on the rise as he treads the line of the underground ever so carefully, his hard hitting dubs and thoughtful house cuts equally at home at DC10 and Sankeys.

Butler’s visit is the start of a new chapter for Dublin promoters Sense who begin their sojourn at the Button Factory alongside veteran promoters Bedlam who just celebrated their second birthday with one of the tastier lineups we’ve seen this year in Ejeca and Paul Woolford. Joining Josh on the evening will be Kant who has now assumed the role of resident for the Sense crew after a number of successful outings. Anyone who witnessed Butler’s last visit to Dublin at The Twisted Pepper will be aware that he is the ideal man to kick start the winter season for both brands, this is a gig we most definitely recommend.

Tickets: Bedlam vs Sense – Josh Butler and Kant
