23 November 2014

It had been a while since our last excursion to The Twisted Pepper but when the Bodytonic boys teamed up with the Room 19 crew and announced that Amê would be coming to the hallowed Pepper basement it was not an opportunity to be passed up. The duo’s Kristian was in Ireland last weekend for slots in Dublin and down with Republik in Waterford and we’re sure anyone who caught him either night was not disappointed. We can safely say, the Dublin heading was one of our favourite gigs in the Capital in well over a year.

We caught the end of Mark Gill and Conor Hanson warming up the basement and they did a fine job. Not too soft and crucially not too heavy. They had the room swinging to the likes of  Tini – Triptease, a favourite from the Desolat back catalogue, and this groovy number from Rodriguez Jr.

Safe to say their tunes were exactly what the doctor ordered and the basement was primed and ready for Kristian when he took control at 1AM. He took the crowd on a magical journey until just after 3AM. His track selection was immense, mixing tight and the atmosphere in the room reflected this. It’s not often we can bop along to a dj set and get stumped for the name of track after track, but Kristian did a number on us. Obviously there was the few Amê crowd pleasers in there, but for the most part, it was a fresh setlist, hopefully lots of which was upcoming Amê material. Either way, we liked what we heard! A fantastic night had by all. Check out a clip of Kristian in full flow below dropping Agoria’s latest remix…should give you a good taster of what the night was like!

Next up for Room 19 is a partnership with Strictly Deep when they again take over The Twisted Pepper. This time with Sidney Charles on Thursday. Get involved – Event Page
