The first round of acts for this years Dekmantel Festival have been announced. The festival, which is due to run from Friday 31st of July to Sunday August 2nd. Organisers have gathered some of the biggest names around in house and techno to showcase their skills in the beautiful Amsterdamse Bos just outside of the city. With names like Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Rodhad and Dixon all featuring in the premier line up release. Only 60 of the 150 odd acts due to preform have been announced so far. But if this little taster is anything to go by then the rest of the line up will be something very special indeed.

Another special feature about this years festival is the first year of a unique opening event on Thursday July 30th. It is due to be held in Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ, this concert hall sits proudly on the banks of the river. With huge windows overlooking the water this is the perfect place to experiment with visual art and to host forward thinking artists such as Manuel Gottsching and Autechre with a focus more on live performances rather than dj’ing. Tickets can be purchased for all events over the weekend  HERE.
