Mood Hut’s Jack J announces new EP on Future times

Jack J, who is part of the Canadian based Mood Hut records collective is due to release his new ep on Future Times next month. Mood Hut put themselves on a lot of peoples radars last summer with a great set at Dekmantels Boiler Room. Which featured Hashman Deejay and Prender Street Steppers. It had some of the most relaxed and creative music heard all weekend. Along with some of the most questionable dancing to match.

This release from Jack is some of the most relaxed, calming and feel good music I’ve heard in a long time. If the likes of HNNY or Floating Points are your kind of thing, then you are in luck. Future Times, who are based in Washington DC seem to be only focused on promoting artists they believe in and love to match the music they believe in and love along with “hanging out and listening to records”.

The opening number, “thirstin’, features soft vocals on this spaced out track. The Lightest drums and perfectly placed piano chords make the listener feel very welcome to the Ep. On the flip side is an instrumental version. Less cluttered minus the vocals. But with just as much soul packed into it. If relaxing in the sun or sunrise parties are your kind of thing then this is the one for you.

The record comes out some time in the next month. But be warned, this one won’t stick around for long!

Track list:

A. Thirstin’

B. Atmosphere
