Top 5 acts to see at Forbidden Fruits 2015

Forbidden Fruits is just around the corner, so we have put our heads together and come up with a list of our 5 favourite acts playing at this years festival.

Jamie xx: With his debut album, “In colour”, just around the corner. The young turks label head man will no doubt be sharing some of his newest tracks with us come the end of may. One of the most impressive producers around today this is one that is not to be missed. Tracks like “Loud Places”, have already made a big impact this year. This young Londoner should have something very special in store for us that you would be a fool to miss.

Nicholas Jaar: An incredibly innovative producer who has never shied away from pushing the boundaries of normality in modern electronic music. Nicholas, who is also a part of Darkside, is about to release his first EP since 2011 under his own name. His sets often veer towards the darker and more melodic side of things. His sets are incredibly unique. I assure you you won’t hear anything else like it all weekend long.

Earl Sweatshirt: Formerly of Odd Future infamy and just off the back of his second album he is just as provocative as ever. Earl has never been afraid of saying exactly what he wanted. Diverting away from the more electronic direction that this festival is going in this year, this is a nice difference. If Hiphop is your thing then this is a rare opportunity to see one of its biggest names right here on Irish soil.

Dusky: Very little needs to be said about these two. Unless you have been living under a rock for the last 4 years then you have heard of Dusky. These two will get you moving with some of the finest techno and house music around. Guaranteed or your money back (not actually). If you are new to electronic music, GO SEE THEM! I promise you you won’t regret it.

Floating points: One of my absolute favourite producers and Dj’s Floating points is unrivalled in creativity and ability. One of the most creative and forward thinking individuals in electronic music today. Having only played in Dublin November last, we can say this set is not one to be missed. Classically trained in musical composition, he has a wealth of knowledge behind him that allow him to express himself more elaborately than almost anyone else in my opinion.
