Velvit next up on Dusky’s 17 Steps – Listen to ‘Be So Cruel’

After several successful releases from label heads Dusky and Christian Piers, 17 Steps has opened its doors to an eclectic EP from Velvit (Darren White), who is possibly better known as his drum’n’bass moniker DBridge.
Nonetheless, we can tell from this release that the man has a talent for the 4/4 beat as well. Lead track ‘Be So Cruel’ is a dark throbbing number featuring White’s own vocals, and has been featuring consistently in Dusky’s sets for the past year, most notably in their RA mix last May. ‘No Excuses’ contrasts as a deeper, slightly different cut with a particularly soulful vocal from Steve Spacek that we can see making its way into many sunrise sets this summer.
The EP rounds out with ‘South of Your Soul’, another dark creepy track with booming bass and White’s distinctive haunting vocal. An eclectic EP which will most certainly feature in some form in Dusky’s set at Forbidden Fruit this coming weekend.
Release: 22nd June on digital and 12”
