5 Essential Acts to Catch at Longitude 2015

When We Dip
Dublin, Events, News
30 June 2015

Longitude is fast approaching, and the lineup continues to get better and better. So to help you decide on which acts you should see over the weekend, WWD have decided to put together a two part guide for you to enjoy. First up, we take a look a 5 top quality acts you don’t want to miss!

Caribou:

Dan Snaith aka Caribou has had a huge year, off the back of the release of his Critically acclaimed album ‘Our love’, he has further developed his live credentials with a new live sound backed by excellent musicians who have smashed it where ever they have toured, check out…. Caribou has an array of tracks to call upon most, revelers won’t be disappointed. Deffo one that’s not to be missed

Chemical Brothers:

Really, what else is there left to say about this duo. Certain to be one of the performances of the festival, they have too many classic albums released over the years, from 2010’s ‘Further’ to my personal favorite , 1999’s ‘Surrender’. Every live show I’ve experienced has been visually stunning, accompanied by excellent track selection, always leaving you with a special experience.

Carl Craig:

One of Detroit’s best selecktors, producers, and general composers of electronic music. His career spans decades, achieving incredible milestones, and playing some of the best clubs and concert halls around the world. Live, the man is an absolute treat to behold. Expect a varied set, encompassing techno, house and elements of jazz. Whether you’re into the scene or not, try and catch a few minutes of this, you will leave impressed.

SBTRKT:

SBTRKT is one of my favorite live artists, he brings mean energy when playing behind his mask and has some absolute tunes that vary in style, touching on elements of garage and R&B to more traditional avenues of electronic music. His production over the years has been excellent, both his debut SBTRKT album and his latest album ‘Wonder where we land’ and the numerous remixes he’s put out, check out his remix of Radiohead’s ‘Lotus Flower’. Definitely an act you don’t want to miss, guaranteed to have a packed tent.

Todd Terje:

One of Norways finest exports, Terje has been steadily building over the years, leading the revitalization of Nu-Disco and bringing an abundance of fun to every gig he plays. His only studio album thus far ‘It’s album time has some absolute classics, most notable the timelessly boisterous ‘Inspector Norse’. His older stuff still smashes it when played aloud, wait for ‘Ragysh’ when it drops and you’ll know what I mean. Terje will be one of the acts of the weekend, make sure you check him out.
