Five Unmissable Acts at Montréal’s AIM Festival

When We Dip
Events, News
23 June 2015

With Montréal all set for the very first edition of AIM Festival this weekend, we couldn’t resist putting together our must-see collection! The festival, which kicks off on Friday afternoon, is a first for many reasons. Not only is it the first electronic music-dedicated festival with on-site camping in the city but it will also see artists playing live for thirty six hours straight from 12pm on Saturday afternoon.

With the hype well and truly underway, here are the artists we recommend for you to-do list!

Four Tet (Live) – Friday, Moog Audio Stage 9.45pm

World renowned for one of the best live shows in the game, Keiran Hebden a.k.a. Four Tet is your reason to get down early.  Taking to the Moog Audio Stage at 9.45 on Friday night, he’s sure to blow the minds of all in attendance. What’s more, his new album is due out on vinyl and CD July 10th. If you can’t wait that long, you can stream it in full here.

Axel Boman – Saturday, Multi Culti/THUMP Stage 10pm

Fresh from a Body & Soul appearance as Talaboman alongside John Talabot, Axel lands in Montréal Saturday evening to lead the procession at the Multi Culti stage alongside standout spinners like Turbo Recordings’s Thomas Von Party and Australian artist Dreems. Boman’s unique tech blend has long been a love of ours, now it’s time to see it in the flesh!

The Martinez Brothers – Sunday, Moog Audio Stage 3.15am

What’s do you need at 3.15 on Sunday morning? Energy! And lots of it. Brooklyn boys The Martinez Brothers got you covered. Expect the guys to hit festival goers with a hi-octane ensemble of monster House & Techno cuts. The lads will keep you groovin’ until the sun comes up. Be there!

Jamie XX -Sunday, Heineken Stage 2pm

Forget what Resident Advisor or anybody else had to say about the new Jamie XX album. We’re intent on finding it all out for ourselves Sunday afternoon at the Heineken Stage. One of the mostly highly rated producer/djs in the game right now, you’d be fool to miss this man, who will surely set the place alight with his deep, emotive grooves. Here’s a stonking little rework from fellow AIM artist Eekkoo to get you in the mood!

Pachanga Boys – Sunday, Heineken Stage 4pm

Simply no better way to close out the weekend! Although, they are widely exulted for the iconic set finisher ‘Time’, these boys are much more than a one hit wonder. Superpitcher and Rebolledo bring an exciting electronic package to the table. Arriving after a very special B2B with Michael Mayer at Space Ibiza last week, the pair will be primed to close out the first edition of AIM Festival in style.
