Nachtbraker returns to Heist Recordings with Le Troubadour ep

Nachtbraker makes his triumphant return to Detroit Swindles Heist Recordings. This is his second release on their label. With the first one coming in the form of 2013’s Gute Laune ep.The Dutch duos label is going from strength to strength with this being their eleventh release now. Their last outing came just a few weeks ago in the form of Fouk’s incredibly impressive Kill Frenzy EP. Nachtbraker is no new comer to the house music game, with a string of releases to his name that would match your mums weekly shopping list and in this ep he uses his wealth of experience to put together a four track bomb that’s due out on the 29th of June.

Kicking things off on this record is Dark Roast. Punchy energetic house with plenty of bounce and groove in it get things off to a flying start on this record. A fat and juicy bass line guides things along with soft synths and a hi hat coming into the mix too. A strong start to the ep for sure.

Then there is Gurl. A lot more of a relaxed feeling on this one. More spacey and mellow than its predecessor. Exotic and foreign sounds drift in and out giving this track a more airy feel. Not before though a baseline comes in to wake you up and kick things along to keep you moving. A slightly different direction to the opener but a good direction none the less.

The title track is up next on the B side of this record. Le Troubadour seems to follow on from where Gurl left off. Continuing the airy spaced out feeling. Relaxed and chilled out house at its finest with all the time in the world to get to do what it wants to do. The medaly of hi hats give this track an almost hip hop feeling but keeps strictly to its house blueprint with a big focus on drums with a faded out melody line drifting along the way. They compliment each other perfectly throughout the track.

Then comes my favourite track on the record, You’re out of your element. Ironically with an amazing amount of elements all working together perfectly harmoniously to create the most impressive track on the ep in my opinion. This track has the most to offer with funky synth lines and a laidback drum beat it is the perfect kind of track to get played in this beautiful summer sunshine.

This is another top notch record from Nachtbraker and with another ep scheduled to come out on Dirt Crew Recordings before the end of the year you should really keep an eye on him. This record is available in all good record stores on the 29th of June. HEIST011.

Tracklist.
