Premiere: Ian O’Donovan Returns with ‘Arena’ on Carl Cox’s Intec Imprint

2 November 2015

Irishman Ian O’Donovan builds on an impressive Drumcode debut from earlier this year with another rousing EP in the form of “Area/Gauntlet”. The former KMS and Bedrock producer is not short on support from industry titans and the trend continues with the brand new output. Mr. Carl Cox has been rinsing “Arena” everywhere from Ultra to Timewarp (Check out the video below!), there’s truly no better seal of approval.

“Arena”, forthcoming on Jon Rundell and Coxy’s Intec label, brings O’Donovan powerhouse blend to the fore once more. The track is built around a thunderous kick drum, slashing ride cymbals and a shudder set of stab sounds.

As for “Gauntlet”, it’s a slightly more minimal, groovy affair, which threatens an acid explosion over the near seven minute journey. It carries a similar brutish nature, making it a staple cut for peak time sets. The release date is set for November 9th, 2015.
