The Italian techno scene is constantly growing and is currently thriving. With multiple strongholds dotted around the nation, the talent is flourishing and crossing the borders into the international community. Each year we are introduced to another rising star and after progress the past 2 years, 2016 seems like it’s really going to be Dast’s turn to shine, as he kicks off the new year with a bang!

Dast has just released a huge EP on fellow Italian, Luca Agnelli’s Etruria Beat label. This ‘Pangea EP’ comes with 2 of the tightest techno tracks we’ve heard in a long while. The huge title track features quality synths and nice spacey pads to ensure an emphatic breakdown. This title track is accompanied a typically pounding remix from label boss Agnelli. Huge!

If Pangea wasn’t big enough, Panthalassa is enormous. Again, a big beat and big breakdown feature heavily in this rhythmic techno bomb. If that wasnt enough, they’ve only gone and rounded up Clio for a remix. The Frenchman has previously signed to Drumcode, so you know exactly what to expect from his remix. A heavy bass line and a thumping kick drum.
