Pygmalion Weekender Preview [ tINI & Ray Okpara ]

When We Dip
Dublin, Europe, Events
1 March 2016

We have a Pygmalion weekender on the horizon this coming Friday and we’ve 2 double passes to give away. Read on to find out more 🙂

One of our favourite DJs, tINI, will bring her signature sound to kick things off. We’re huge fans of her here at WWD. We covered her March 2014 trip to the Twisted Pepper basement when Culture Shock brought the blonde to our fair city. This Friday Culture Shock team up with Di-Vision to promote her appearance at Pygmalion.

Over the past few years she’s really risen to the forefront of underground tech-house. Her style of DJ’ing is captivating. Effective cutting and reintroduction of some heavy, heavy basslines really makes for some enjoyable listening.

With her tINI and the gang crew she throws down some of the best parties going. So good the Ibizan police had to take action this past year. Luckily, we got to No Name, Ibiza on one of the few occasions her free beach party was not shut down. Unfortunately, tINI’s ears prevented her from playing,  but her stellar lineup partied on in her absence.

Although we knew few names on her lineup, each track was clearly carefully selected as the vibes ran true. It’s this trust in her inner circle that is really refreshing. In a dance music scene these days which is dominated by big names, PR and money, tINI stays true to the underground and this transfers to her sets. Prepare to hear tracks you’ve never heard before and prepare to enjoy them, immensely.

Support on Friday from one of the best DJs Dublin has to offer, Aaron Nolan.

Saturday sees the turn of Ray Okpara. We’re big fans of him here at WWD and premiered his 2015 remix of Kasbah Zoo & Oniwax.

It goes without saying we’re looking forward to seeing what house vibes he brings along on the night. Ray can play a variety of styles of house. From groovy deep tunes with lots of melodies, to techier numbers full of percussion and onto those bass heavy numbers we all love a bit of.

Listening to a set of his will confirm this and no doubt get you in the mood for Saturday. Support on the night from a very exciting prospect, Hybrasil[LIVE].

Thanks to the guys at Di-Vision, we’ve 2 double passes to give away for the weekender. Head over to our Facebook page to get your name in our magic sorting hat.
