Belfast duo Schmutz launch their very own imprint this week leading the line with the debut release in the form of a stellar three tracker. The jump into the label world comes after impressive releases on the likes of Berlin’s renowned Dirt Crew Recordings and Danny Daze’s budding Omnidisc. Heading up the first EP on the aptly named SHMTZ is ‘Detroit Blood’. It’s a refreshing cut, which blends an eery air, a rather industrial touch with an organic element. The boys combine a pounding kick drum and a violent line of keys with a harrowing vocal splash in what is a pulsating near six minute trip.
