Many will know Mannheim artist Adam Stacks from his time curating the budding German imprint Beans & Bacon. The label has fast emerged as a spritely taste-making label with an inmitable outlook on the music game. This month, the label chief spreads his wings, dropping an impressive four tracker on Nightcolours Recordings (home to the likes of co-founder Javier Orduna, Alfredo Di Santo and Luminer) with the accompaniment of tech don Beatamines (a man who needs little introduction) and B&B label artist Neferiel, who has been catching many eyes of late.
Stacks opens Mindset Ep with ‘Loving You’, a blissful and instantly pleasing cut lead by a dulcet piano line. It’s the kind of Summer track that we can’t do without. Simply yet undeniably effective. Neferiel re-routes the track with a dark remix, moulding the dark atmosphere of the track around a heavy low-end and thumping beat.
Track two ‘Campanula’ is another special production in its own right. That signature emotion that makes Stacks music so addictive is present and corrective. Delicious synth work provides an engrossing breakdown while an organic drum ensemble carries the listener away on an awesome groove. Einmusika and Great Stuff producer Beatamines is tasked with the remix and it’s well worthy of your ears. The Berlin-based artist crafts a chugging tech house weapon with a filthy bass-line and a dynamite collection of future-driven fx.
