Festival Preview: Warm Weather Means Woogie

When We Dip

17 June 2016

In the mid of July the second installment of the Do Lab’s Woogie Weekend will be held in Southern California. The Do Lab are the spin off masters, if you are familiar with them it is most likely because you heard of them at Coachella. Labeled as the “fest within the fest” the Do Lab stage has been at the center of Coachella (now more off to the side due to size) for a better part of a decade. The brand exemplifies a sort of antithesis compared to the everyday Coachella experience. The Do Lab very much takes on the aesthetics and ethos of another bigger festival, Burning Man.

Now they are taking their festival within a festival idea and expanding it to their own brand. For the last two years they have created a spin-off to their lead festival, Lightning in a Bottle (LIB).

Enter Woogie Weekend, adopted from the name of its LIB stage (The Woogie), this fest takes House and Techno to heart. The Woogie stage at Lightning in a Bottle is the “go-to” stage for sure. Music taste aside I was told by one attendee of this year’s past LIB, “you could always go to the Woogie at any point and expect great vibes.” Expect the vibes to continue all weekend long July 8-11th as the Do Lab team sets up their immaculate festival at the beautiful Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, California.

A lot of you should be familiar with this space, it held the past Lightning in a Bottle’s before its more recent home, it was also the site of last year’s Woogie Weekend and the Dirtybird Campout.

This year’s lineup includes Claptone, Jon Hopkins, Damian Lazarus, Oliver Huntemann, Extrawelt and many more talented artists (Full Line-up below). Festival passes can still be purchased.
