Mr.G takes on Midnight Shift [Temasek]

UK based Mr.G renowned for his energy galvanized sets presents us with a sumptuous EP forthcoming on ‘Midnight Shift’. G has had a very successful career, booming from 2006 when ‘Rekids’ took him onto where he would release 3 extravagant EPs, with remixes on some by the likes of Marcel Dettmann & Radio Slave. The 3 track EP really showcases Mr.G’s experienced style and his ability to create analog based rhythms to keep a steady raw flow. The one noticeable thing in close to all of his productions and his sets is the way he arranges his cymbal rides. Colin creates hypnotizing movements.

Kicking straight into the EP ‘Pan Pacific’ is a bass heavy monster holding nothing back, crazed sub elements give a large thumping boom that would devastate club speakers. Leading into the second track of the EP, Colin creates a more techy sequence with a rolling bassline accompanied by some basic but effective drum patterns. The final track and more mellow side of the EP introduces ‘Black Pepper Crap’. Mr.G creates a very ambient setting with some heavenly pads cushioned with mellow vocals and synths.
