Welcome to the second when we dip collection. This is a weekly article where we round up the mixes that we have been listening to throughout the week and want to share with all of you. Mixes and live sets coming from some of our favourite dj’s, producers and noise creators There are no boundaries to what can be included and shared, if we love it we share it. No disk jockey is too big or too small to be included in the mix. So without further delay please enjoy the When We Dip collection 002.
Jackmaster b2b Gerd Janson live @ Circoloco x Loveland ADE
First out the gate this week is the Glaswegian party animal Jack Master along with the master of selection Gerd Janson. With ADE just over a couple of weeks ago sets are slowly starting to seep online from various different artists and we are only delighted to bring this one to you. It is the usual combination of house bangers and artistically refined record selection from each man. Massive tip on this one!
Solid Steel Radio Show by Mr G
Next up is the London legend himself Mr. G. He put together an hour mix for Solid Steel Radio Show which comprises of everything and anything that you might not expect to hear from the usual techno general. A varied selection of Brazilian cuts and some more soulful selections it is a prefect musical education set squeezed beautifully into an hour that feels like it could go and go forever.
Pender Street Steppers & Beautiful Swimmers at Dekmantel Festival 2016
When I saw this set pop up on my homepage I couldn’t believe my eyes. Video clips had surfaced on the days of and after Dekmantel festival in Amsterdam of these two duos playing back to back to back to back. Needless to say there was massive interest in this set and low and behold the good folks behind Dekmantel have only gone and done it again by releasing all FOUR HOURS of the mix for your beautiful ears to enjoy. Having bumped into the Pender Street Steppers in a record shop in Dublin once I can honestly say they are two of the most genuine and warm guys in the business. So treat yourself and hide away from the world for a while with this majestic mix.
Far Away Los Angeles 28th October 2016 by Four Tet
Sticking with the run of fantastically long sets We now offer you a four and a half hour beast from the one and only Four Tet. Recorded a couple of weeks ago in LA where he was playing from open to close. This is one of those rare types of sets that truly bring you on a journey (as typically fucking cliche as it may sound). But don’t get too excited, well do but…. someone messed up the recording and it is sadly missing 90 minutes of the set at the end. But never fear there is plenty meat left on the bone for you to enjoy.
Rago Foot – NTS Live Sessions @ Corsica Studios
Stepping away to something slightly different now is a set from a man who, if I’m being honest, I know very little about. I happened upon Rago Foots set a while back while there was a live stream of it on Facebook. I was massively impressed with his lyrics as well as the instrumental, the majority of which he produces himself. Not your average straightforward rapper but a welcome difference none the less with a massively unique style. This set was recorded live in Corsica Studios in London while he was opening up for Jamie Isaac. Check it…

Dekmantel Podcast 095 – Kobosil
Finishing things off on a slightly more intense note we have an hour of blistering hot techno from one of Berghains shinning lights in Kobosil. The young dj and producer is the newest member of the Berlin team and has released on both Ostgut Ton and Unteton. He brings us an hour of relentless pounding for which he has become known for. If you are looking for something to wake you up in the morning then this might be the one for you.
