Select Cuts: Marst

When We Dip
Electronic, News
16 February 2017

Joining us for the latest episode in the Select Cuts series is Marst, a native of Paris in France, now based in Rouen. Marst has been on a considerable rise since he first broke onto the scene in 2011, he’s gone on to release on the likes of Diynamic Music, Bedrock, KMS and more while receiving support from big hitters like Laurent Garnier, Solomun, Rodriguez Jr. and Agoria. 2017 will see appearances on the likes of Definition:Music, King Street Sounds and Click Recordings but first he steps into the spotlight with a 60 minutes mix. Get it on the system folks! What’s more, Marst selects his five favourite spots from his French capital, it’s all below 🙂

Marst Shares His Top Five Paris Hangouts

Café Chéri(e)

I’m just a big fan of this bar. Café Chéri(e) is THE place to be in the Belleville (Zoo) area of Paris! Always a lot of super interesting people (around 30 years old), always good music with my friend Brice / Dj Hobbs and his amazing selection, a dancefloor, cool drinks prices… I can’t say more, you need to live it to know!

Rex Club

The Rex was like my second house for years as a nightclubber. It’s part of my first Parisian nights with the Queen Club. It’s here that I saw and met Laurent Garnier for the first time, after listening to his records for years!!! Their sound system is just the best. It’s a mythical club. Don’t miss it if you’re in Paris!

Shingané

My favorite Korean restaurant in Paris. Their food is absolutely tasty! It’s a wok. You cook your meat yourself. Their Korean wines are all excellent! I really need to go there before going out…

Montmartre

My favorite area in Paris. I have so many memories here… Datings, aperitifs with friends, parties, musical sessions. There are of course many tourists during the day, but once night falls, there is a very special atmosphere particularly conducive to any kind of inspiration.

Nouveau Casino

The concert hall, the small club where I organize all my “Kontrol” parties today. The staff is just absolutely adorable, super friendly. The sound is good, and the 400 people capacity allows me to do very good parties without necessarily booking big big names!
