Sunfall Festival: Where daytime beats meet nocturnal treats

Being Bohemian is something few people can achieve. Having that jouie de vivre, that thing that sets you apart from all the other people out there, isn’t easily attainable. When you apply this to the festival circuit, you’ll see that there’s very little in the way of maverick behaviour, because there’s a lot of recycling going on instead. Similar lineups, similar layouts and similar setups keep cropping up, with very little to distinguish one from the next.

But things changed a bit last year, when The Columbo Group – the brains behind respected clubbing institutions XOYO, Phonox and The Nest – launched a new festival for London. They named it Sunfall. And now, a year later, the capital’s unconventional carnival is making its return.

What is it then that sets the Sunfall shindig apart? Well, firstly, the lineup can certainly be described as unique in comparison to other festivals. Think Dekmantel crossed with The Hydra, with a sprinkling of Outlook on top. Housey disco vibes, accompanied by a tinge of techno, with a bit of old skool jungle and DnB to tie the whole package together

Then you’ve got the set up. The daytime antics occur in London’s Brockwell Park, before Sunfall by night takes place, when the party moves into various clubs dotted around the capital. Think afterparties, but with a classy tinge. Catch a Numbers showcase at Village Undergound, or a Make Me party at Corsica Studios. Or, for all you bass heads, head on over to Brixton Jamm for an Outlook x Southbound rave up.

We won’t go through the exact lineup, because we’ll leave that one up to you. Needless to say it certainly speaks for itself, with a wealth of talent plucked right from the heart of the underground. Sunfall offers a party that shuns the mainstream, making it a true festival for music lovers.

Sunfall festival lands in London’s Brokwell Park on August 12th. Tickets here. Catch the full daytime lineup below.
