As you may well know by now, we’re particularly fond of the Belfast based artiste that is Montel, from his storming Select Cuts mix over a year ago on this platform, to the stream of tip top records that have emerged from his studio in recent times, it’s a pleasure to have a man from our own little island of Ireland make the kind of global impression he has done. Recent months have been punctuated with a number of poignant releases on stellar imprints such as Sincopat, Bedrock Records and Glasgow Underground as well as his very own Misfit Records, and if the previews are anything to go by, his latest salvo looks set to have an equally impressive impact.

Doubledown is the brand new collection from Montel on the much vaunted VIVa Limited. The Steve Lawler led label has enjoyed a fruitful summer and this brand new EP brings the curtain down on what has been a successful few months. We’re particularly excited to premiere the lead track from the EP today via the When We Dip soundcloud. The track packs a rumbling bass paired with some well placed vocals and a hint of rave, all coming together succinctly to produce a purpose built dancefloor record. One for the rekordbox there is no doubt.
