Earthly Delights imprint continue their journey with debut LP from New York-based multi-instrumentalist Shaun Benjamin

The eighth instalment from budding imprint Earthly Delights welcomes a returning Shaun Benjamin, the musician behind the exciting Summer EP  ‘Black Sails’. The NYC-based talent has delivered an exquisite 10 track LP showcasing his exploration in electronic music. He collides worlds in an album that fuses traditionally club-found touches with core organic elements, utilising his own instrumental skills to great effect. The New York-label Earthly Delights, which provides a home to the LP, has made a name for itself already despite its infancy in spotlighting some of the most exciting new talents in the electronic space. Benjamin is placed firmly among that guard with ‘Evoke’ offering an undeniably brilliant experience.

The LP opens with a soothing, ethereal gem in ‘Restless Heart’, it’s an improvised piece that brings an exhilarating electronic fusion to the table. Bursting with character, and a touch of The Doors, it paints a perfect picture to open the release. ‘Robber Barrons’ one of our personal favourites follows the lead. It lifts the intensity to another level with emotive strings filling the intro. The track builds supremely before a soft kick drum fires the production into action coupled with a lush groove and a hypnotic top-line. Other standout cuts on the release include playa-flavoured gem ‘Written’, a funky east meets west groover that is sure to get you movin’ and ‘String Theory’, an up-beat roller with a distinctly tech edge. You can check out the full previews from the album here.
