Justin Jay is a name that most of us are familiar with by now. Taken under the wing by Claude VonStroke and his esteemed Dirtybird label years ago, Justin was destined to be a star in the dance music community.

His Fantastic Voyage album was a smasher—garnering millions of plays across the internet. Today, he presents us with his second debut album Home. The album is a bit of a departure from Justin’s usual style as he personally sings on nearly every track and features accompaniments from his bandmates and friends from college.

Check out the first music video and a review of a couple of our favorite off the album below.

Flowers is a hypnotizing beautiful single, easily the most thought-provoking track on the record. The song is written about us growing through the toughest times in life; the hook “flowers grow in the rain” indicative of Justin overcoming life’s down times. The track is an emotional mountain – one that words simply can’t do justice.

Ease Up is a bit more of an uplifting ballad, which encourages an approach to not taking life’s trivial matters so seriously. It’s a fun and danceable tune, definitely deserving of praise as a stand out single.

Start to finish, Home is a story told by a young dude who is just getting his grips on life. Let’s be real – life can be a cruel mistress, and for some, writing music about it is the only way to express innermost feelings. The Home album is out everywhere today via Justin’s record label Fantastic Voyage.
