The second album release to come from UK tastemaker Chapter 24 Records arrives December 8th courtesy of young Frenchman Anton Dhouran. The budding Parisian producer, born into a family of movie-makers, has been showcasing his stellar hand at crafting cinematic dance tracks in recent times, and his new LP is the most exciting instalment yet. Check out an exclusive cut from the release below, as we go behind the project in Q&A!

WWD – Hey Anton, first could you tell us a little more about you?

Hey! So I’m Anton Dhouran I’m 23 years old and I live in Paris. I’m producer, musician and DJ and I will release my first LP on the London based Chapter 24 records on 8th December!

WWD – What inspired you to produce this LP?

I aim to merge modern digital sound with classically inspired instrumental work, so my first inspiration comes from movie music, but I’ve a lot of other inspirations from folk music to deep house, and there is a lot of artists who inspired me, like Robot Koch, Kiasmos, Jose Gonzalez, Stephan Bodzin, Moderat, Hiatus, Prequell… To name a few!

WWD – how do you produce and what is your materiel?

I don’t really have a routine about my way of producing. Sometimes I start by making the drums, sometimes by writing the melodies on my guitar or piano.
About my materiel, I produce with ableton, a lot of plug synthesizer like komplete or arturia collection. Also I have 5 guitars from classical to electric and I use the spitfire symphonic orchestra and some real musicians for the records of the other instruments like violin or flute.

WWD – I heard about a video project alongside the album, Could you tell us more about?

In keeping with the cinematographic thrust of my album, we wanted to accompanied it by a short film who scores the album title track. So this project is an artistic collaboration between two directors and I. The film, The Myth Of Tarae, is a soft, yet apocalyptic ballad of a land, viewed through the empty eyes of teenagers alone in the world. The 3-minute film is showing the indifference in which human beings are watching the conscious destruction of their own planet until it disappears.
the project pleased a lot of people and I had the chance to work with a high-level team of film, photo, music, advertising, post-production partners.. Now I hope that people will like 🙂

WWD – What’s up next after the release?

At the moment I really looking forward to share my album with all and I hope people will like it. But to talk about the futur I already think about making my second album because I really like this format and I think it’s the best format for my kind of music. But closer in time I have some upcoming projects with other producer, some live projects with singer and musicians and some nice gigs. Also I already have some upcoming releases on nice labels scheduled for 2018!
