F.T.G and Marco Riff are the lads behind the Fuckthegovernment label, an Italian imprint that’s got tongues wagging thanks to its staunch dedication to analogue aesthetics and – most critically – some spectacular releases. Their most latest release is an example in point. “(I’ve Seen) Love From Tokyo” sees the pair delve deep, with the emergent track a stunning example of their obvious chemistry in the studio. Indeed, so excellent is the track that Chicago legend Boo Williams even remixed it. With all this in mind, we caught up with F.T.G recently, as he gave us a quick run through his studio setup. Gear heads especially will appreciate this one!

Hey! My name is Alfred Trastulli aka F.T.G. I’m a live act, a DJ, a producer and label owner from Italy. Below is my studio setup – the room changes on an almot weekly basis but here is the most recent pic I have…

Below is my modular system room, where i often produce alongside my partner in crime at Analog Inside, Brando Torri aka Siyah Kuma

The Roland TR909. What more can I say here? The beating heart of my grooves!

Acidlab Miami (Roland TR 808 Clone) Endless possibilities with this machine! I love her grooves and low pass Moog filters; they help create really explosive sounds and grooves.

Roland TB-303. I created the best bass line of my life on the 303. Can’t say which one though!

Various type of pedal effects are at the heart of the real time manipulations of beats, vox, lead, strings or pads. For me, an essential piece of kit.

Korg MS20 Rev1 1982 “Mr. Lead”. Incredible to think this came out so long ago now. The beat sound of the semi-modular.

Roland Juno106. All about the strings, pads and creating that Chicago atmosphere!

Moog SUB37 – for modern lead and atmosphere, big bass and granular beats. (Shout out to Carola Pisaturo for the photo!)

F.T.G & Marco Riff’s “(I’ve Seen) Love from Tokyo” (feat. Boo Williams remix) is out 11th December on Fuckthegovernment. Buy here.
