Junction 2 2018: Techno Returns to London

For two years now, Junction 2 festival has been providing Londoners with hard-hitting techno, in a groundbreaking location. It’s not the first time we’ve talked about Junction 2, and as we’re sure you’ll know, Boston Manor Park, a towering motorway bridge, and plenty of woodland, all combine to form an event space that’s as exciting as it is forward thinking. And with renowned London party starters LWE curating the festival, alongside Drumcode head honcho Adam Beyer, there’s always something to look out for, especially given their reputation for holding sprawling raves in some of London’s most innovative event spaces.

So what does the 2018 edition hold for revellers? Well as mentioned, the location will be the same as the previous two years – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it springs to mind  – but this year there’s no doubt the lineup is something very special indeed. The first announcement saw the likes of Len Faki, Nina Kraviz and Tale of Us grace the bill, alongside underground champion Joy Orbison, and Hotflush head Scuba. A stellar first run no doubt, but the icing on the cake came last week, when a series of B2Bs were announced.

Now then we urge you to steady yourselves, for this is enough to get any techno head drooling. The Innervisions crew, composed of renowned duo Âme and Resident Advisor’s top voted DJ Dixon, will be playing a six hour back to back set. Yup, six hours. On top of this, the king – Carl Cox – will be going back to back with Adam Beyer, and Sonja Moonear will be going back to back with Nicolas Lutz. Yup, those are some serious B2Bs. Six hours of Innervisions, a never done before combination of Adam Beyer and Carl Cox, and a showcase in the finest in minimal beats from Sonja Mooonear and Nicolas Lutz.

If you’ve never been before, then we’d advise you to get your skates on. These B2Bs don’t come around often, nor does a location like this, but if our words aren’t enough to convince you, then check out the warm up video below. It won’t disappoint.

Junction 2 festival lands in London’s Boston Manor Park on the 9th of June. 4th release tickets available here.
