Perpetual: A new house and techno series for Motion Bristol

This isn’t the first time we’ve talked about Motion Bristol, far from it in fact. But a new event series is heading to Motion; one that offers a tasteful, and similarly forward thinking approach, to some of house and techno’s more underground, but established, artists. Why forward thinking? Well for something to be perpetual, it has to continue for ever in the same way. Apply this to the DJ, and you’ll be provided with extended sets, and those special all night long sets, that really allow you to be taken on a journey right through from start to finish.

Perpetual

Perpetual launches on the 24th of February, and is Motion’s new flagship series. Not only is it dedicated to the more underground side of house and techno, but extended sets are the crux of the series. Four events spread over three months will see Daniel Avery begin proceedings, with an all night long set on the 24th of February; Dixon will then take the reigns the weekend after, playing an extended set on the 3rd of March, and supported by Trikk and DJ Tennis; March 31st will see Roman Fluegel play all night long; and to round off the bill, Ellum founder Maceo Plex will play an extended set on the 27th of April. Exciting times lie ahead.

But aside from the DJs on the roster, Motion’s Perpetual series offers something that is often quite hard to come by in today’s dance music scene. The extended set is a rare breed, and one that allows punters to form a deeper connection with the DJ. It may sound cliche, but the journey we’re taken on is far more real and genuine, crafted by the talent of the artist, and formed through years of experience. Even the thought of it is more exciting. We will be at the mercy of the DJ, in the palm of their hand, subconsciously allowing ourselves to be taken on a trip, through the medium of music.

Perpetual lands at Motion Bristol on the 24th of February, with Daniel Avery playing all night long. All tickets available here.
