Hospitality in the Dock 2018: Drum and bass heads to Tobacco Dock

Events, News
1 February 2018

The almighty Tobacco Dock, the almighty Hospital Records. Put them together, and you’re in for a full day of drum and bass laden shenanigans, in the sprawling confines of an old Tobacco warehouse. We’re no strangers to this venue, nor to one of Hospital’s signature events, yet our feet are already itching, and our ears already tingling, to feel and hear the rumbling groans of dark drum beats in this iconic venue. Hospitality in the Dock 2018, we can’t wait.

It’s by no means the first time Hospitality have taken over the Dock. Just last year, the revered DnB imprint made its home here for the very first time. But as most of you very well know, they tend not to do things in halves the second time round, as evidenced by Hospitality in the Park 2017, so it looks set to be a right old romper stomper. Get a whiff of this lineup, it’ll have you drooling.

The Great Gallery

As usual, we’ve got three cavernous areas to choose from. Fronting the bill in the Great Gallery are Austrian duo Camo & Krooked, who just last year released their eagerly anticipated Mosaic album on Ram Records; Brazilian heavyweight S.P.Y; Hospitality head honcho London Elektricity; and special guests Kings of the Rollers, the DnB brigade made up of Souped Up Records runner Serum, Bladerunner, and Voltage. Then we’ve got Whiney, Keeno, who we caught up with at Hospitality in the Park, and Unglued, an artist who’s recent neurofunk-infused-roller ‘Bootstrap Bill’ came out just a week ago. We’ll post a link in case you haven’t heard it already (it’s a monster), and hosting things will be MCs Dynamite, SP, Wrec, Daxta and Degs.

The Car Park

Hosting the Car Park will be Undivide, the creative fusion of Bristol party starters The Blast, and Hospitality DnB themselves. Bad Company, the original drum and bass supergroup, will be headlining the cavernous underbelly. Killbox will see Ed Rush go B2B with Audio, and legend of the scene Break will be bringing his arsenal of dark and heavy DnB. The revered neurofunk label Eatbrain will be being represented by a triple back-to-back from Jade, L33 and Telekenisis, and another triple back-to-back from Fracture, Lewis James and Sully will be showcasing the talents of Astrophonica Records. And Voltage makes another appearance alongside Benny L, with the mighty Bassman on the mic. As usual, the Car Park is showcasing the best in the dark and gritty side of the DnB spectrum.

The Little Gallery

Jungle is the name of the game in the Great Gallery’s little brother, with famed raving brand Jungle Jam hosting things. There are some true legends of the scene playing here, so make sure you tune in. Congo Natty, Micky Finn, Mala, and Randall playing a history set. Then a special jungle set from Nu:Tone B2B S.P.Y, Krust playing a warhead era classics set, and another B2B from Benny Page and Potential Bad Boy. Hosting things are Dynamite MC, along with Skibadee, Shabba D and Ruthless. Junglists, this one’s for you.

And on top of the carefully curated lineup, we’ve also got an open rooftop that features hand picked street food vendors, live drummers and a reverse bungee jump for all you thrill seekers. See that’s the thing with Hospitality: the clue is in the name. It’s about the experience; it’s a party that has drum and bass at it’s crux, and the ravers in it’s heart, offering an atmosphere that lives up to all expectations. Drum and bass heads – this one is not to be missed.

Hospitality in the Dock takes place at Tobacco Dock on March 30th. Third release tickets available here.
