Adam Husa Goes All Night For The 1st Edition of Calluna Journeys

When We Dip
Events, Montréal, North America
21 March 2018

The ease with which music can be mixed today, a result of drastic technological advancement in hardware and software, has begun to shift the challenge a DJ faces away from each individual transition in a set, and towards an increased focus on the journey created over the course of a performance. This change has caused a desire for longer time slots from artists who play progressively, a need for a larger opportunity for artistic expression. Calluna Journeys is this opportunity. A chance for artists to work within the entirety of an evening, to showcase their diversity of taste.

Adam Husa is a familiar face to Montréal clubbers, responsible for a wide range of successful events over the past 5 years. A dedicated DJ, his broad taste and extensive travel itinerary work together to bring the best of the world to the dancefloor. This Saturday will be a rare chance for this local hero to play all night, to offer up the best of his extensive catalogue as well as lesser known tracks that might not have found a place in shorter sets. The extra time will also allow Adam to share more of his own original production, much of it unreleased, unable to be heard anywhere else. Adam’s past productions have exhibited a style that is deep, organic, and melodic, incorporating his wide range of experiences into tracks that captivate the listener with lush, liquid soundscapes. This extended set will be a chance to experience the full range of Adam’s taste, an artist who is entirely capable of taking advantage of this format.

As Husa Sounds grows, the launch of a record label has been a long anticipated next step for the brand. A variety of releases from artists that both compliment and expand the atmosphere of Adam’s own tracks has fuelled a strong start for the fledgling label. The latest addition to this collection, available today, is his own original work, Psychadelica. Plucky bass and a deep kick combine with spacious pads and sporadic percussion to create a stellar addition to the Husa Sounds roster.
