Next up for Wax Worx is his release on VIVa Limited, he comes to the party with a 3 track EP of epic proportions in tow. Continuing his recent trend of energy fuelled, vocal-laden, pumping Tech House weapons, Wax has pulled out all the stops to deliver an almighty package which is sure to turn some heads on dancefloors this summer.

Kicking things off is ‘Smokin’ Funk’, a bouncy low-end groover featuring some nostalgic vocal work and robust drum programming that inspires far more than a mere two-step. A track laced with catchy percussion, pulsing sub-bass and slamming rhythms throughout that will have you on your feet and stomping in no time at all, a pure underground weapon. Time for round 2, ‘High Fly’ a more conventional tech roller, again featuring some top-notch vocal play, a heavy underbelly and ultimately crisp percussive elements. The track has a distinctive sense of funk to it, with some audaciously moreish guitar licks giving a wicked retro feel that will still slot in nicely with todays modern tech sound. ‘High Fly’ has also received a super groovy remix from Liverpool’s KINNERMAN, using the original samples to great effect, whilst adding his own vocal elements and style. Closing the show is ‘This That’ a powerfully robust low-frequency jam. Wax has carried on the sensationally groovy theme with this one, a track built on a solid foundation of punchy drums, driving vocals and even implements some quirky, far-out melodic factors. A fitting end to an EP that exhibits Wax Worx as an individual yet subtly diverse Tech House producer, there’s a little something here for everyone.
