A club night series operating out of Florence, Italy, Tropical Animals have brought the elite of the dance music world to Tuscany since 2010. The likes of Bradley Zero, Avalon Emerson, Bambounou, Chez Damier or Luca Lozano have all played the party before. In 2018, it is time for the team behind the party to scratch a longstanding itch and start the Tropical Animals label, with a three tracker from long time friend and fellow Italian artist Whitesquare. With previous appearances on labels like 20:20 Vision and Freerange, Whitesquare has established a reputation for hypnotizing, melodic deep-house. “In Light”, his Tropical Animals debut follows suit with three tracks that roam free in the deeper ends of the spectrum, where spirals of sounds intersect with pure electronic atmospheres, deep down and far in. Opening track “Limitation” is an unrelenting vortex of acid nuances. “Velvet Room” follows with a romantic melody driven by a crisp breakbeat and plush textures. “Pressing Point” closes proceedings on a high of pristine rhythms and synths.
