Eastern Electrics 2018 Roundup: Our Top Picks

2 August 2018

Eastern Electrics is returning to it’s new home of Morden Park for the second year running, and boy are they bringing with them a heavyweight house and techno lineup. Doesn’t time fly? Because it was pretty much this time last year that we had a chat with Denney about getting started in the music industry, just before he went out onto the Warriors stage.

With new stage hosts, as well as ones from old, this year’s EE looks set to deliver on all fronts. Catch our top picks from the day below.

The main stage is looking lively by anyone’s standards, as special guest Erick Morillo has just been announced. The American native brings an infectious energy to the decks, what a legend of the scene. Hot Creations head honcho Jamie Jones will also be in attendance, alongside Dirtybird daddy Claude Vonstroke, and Knee Deep in sound boss Hot since 82.

The Switchyard will be taken over by Edible, the imprint of everyone’s favourite Bristolian: Eats Everything. Joining him will be techno titan Alan Fitzpatrick, up-and-coming Billy Turner, as well as Guti who will be performing live. That’s our top pick from the day right there, a live set from Guti is never to be missed!

Oliver Jones? Ring any bells? How about Skream? Well the Croydon native will be leading proceedings over at the Skreamizm stage, bringing with him Dennis Ferrer, De La Swing and a special B2B from Citizenn and Swooney.

So that’s house and techno covered, but what about those of you who lean more towards the bass side of things? Well fear not, because bringing that signature UK bass sound will be none other than the trio of all trios TQD, as well as Chris Lorenzo. Conducta will be bringing the garage flavours, while P money and D Double E will be serving up your daily dose of grime.

Take it from us, EE isn’t one to be missed. Last year delivered on all fronts: wicked production levels, a good crowd and solid soundystems at all tents and stages. Catch the after movie for the 2017 edition below, it won’t disappoint!

Eastern Electrics lands in Morden Park on the 4th of August. All tickets available here.
