Having already gained support from the likes of Dixon, Ame and Red Axes, Scatcity Records‘ latest offering from Ivory is already on the way to cause a serious stir this summer. Opening up with the title track, ‘Mindfulness’, Ivory lays down a crunchy synth roller, overlapped against a range of warm and bright melodic chord sequences, before throwing you back into a deep groove. Moving on to ‘Quiet In Her Shadow’, elusive synth line Minimalistic percussive elements, progressive with teasing chordal changes and ever developing reverb echoes. On the flipside, ‘Everything Is Illuminated’ is a force to be reckoned with, as deep and eerie drone synth bounce up the menacing chugs of drum and bass line. Floyd Lavine steps up to close the EP, with his take on Mindfulness; rounding off with a calmer experience, as enriched saw synths ease you off into the sunrise, rounding off another spectacular release from the Scatcity crew.
