Motion Bristol: In:Motion series launches

Bristol’s In:Motion series made it’s eagerly anticipated return on Friday the 28th of September, with a bass-laden lineup that catered to drum and bass and garage fans alike. Far from being a home for only one genre of music, there is a varied selection of events on the horizon. And things are looking very exciting indeed.

Just Jack will also be hosting an event at the venue, for a Halloween takeover on the 2nd of November. The revered house brand is evidence that the true roots of house and techno continue to live on, and what better way to celebrate such a feet than an all night long event in a former warehouse. Detroit legend DJ Bone will be playing alongside Tama Sumo and Ben UFO. Little introduction needs to be given for these artists, considering they’re esteemed mixing ability has been talked about for decades. The usual residents will be providing support, with Tom Rio, Dan Wild and Jethro all playing also. Real techno from Detroit, alongside proper house music: this is one for the heads. Check out the video below for a real insight into Bone’s creative process.

The famed Love International festival will be hosting things on the 23rd of November. The lineup has reminiscent flares of Houghton and Lost village festival combined, as Nicolas Lutz, Craig Richards, Joy Orbison, Moodymann and Saoirise will all be attending. Add to that a DJ set from Todd Terje, and things quickly start taking a nicely well-rounded shape that caters for minimal house and techno fans alike.

And finally, the Crack magazine takeover on the 8th of December will showcase some of the most revered talents in the electronic music scenes. Motor City Drum Ensemble will be fronting the bill, playing a three-hour set, and will be joined by none other than techno stalwart Jeff Mills. Those two alone are enough to set the tone for the evening, but support will be coming from the likes of Umfang, Courtesy, Izabel and Powder. Few words are to be said about such a strong and carefully curated lineup, so have a look at the video of last year’s Crack event below.
