Oliver Schories returns to his homebase SOSO with two chunky house cuts, Royan and Kawat. Remixes come from Bookwood and Francesco Mami. Opening with a melodically rich, percussive tour de force, Schories shows us immediately why he’s becoming such an in-demand producer and DJ. ‘Royan’ screams peak-time. Undulating bass and evolving sonic tapestries keep you locked in from the first note to the last. ‘Kawat’ is a grittier, more visceral cousin. Grimey rhythms create a darkened 3am club landscape before melodic elements slowly warm the track up. Super funky bass notes inject a heavy disco vibe in the second half.

Fellow German, Bookwood, who’s released tracks on URSL, Cosmic Society and more, provides the first of two remixes of ‘Royan’, choosing to deepen the flow and concentrate on big emotive synths creating a perfect crossover track with lush soundscapes. London-based Francesco Mami on the other hand has created a machine funk remix of epic proportions. Wild and incredibly groovy from the off, it soon becomes emotive with the introduction of the original’s melodic tropes.

You can listen to the full premiere of ‘Royan’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy !
