Strange Idols is the techno oriented imprint run by Swedish artist Tiger Stripes and its latest release is an EP from VONDA7 featuring a remix from the label boss himself.

Polish artist VONDA7 has an eclectic sound covering a wide spectrum of electronic music, and has done melodic releases on labels such as Sasha’s Last night On Earth and Guy Gerber’s Rumors, ranging through to techno releases on Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains, and Pan-Pot’s Second State. With looped chords and heavy percussion, this release is very much on the techno side of VONDA7’s style, and showcases the dancefloor focused sound she champions in her DJ sets, which has led to her being booked to play everywhere from Singapore to Germany.

Alongside the two original tracks is a remix from label boss Tiger Stripes, whose accomplished production skills have seen his tracks featured on many scene leading labels ranging from Drumcode to Hot Creations. No matter what the style he always delivers an exceptional quality of music, and this thumping techno remix is no exception.

The EP opens with VONDA7’s original track “Stay Organic” which brings together Detroit style chords, heavy claps, and muffled vocals. Combined with a jacking groove, this timeless piece has a contemporary sound with classic influence. Second of the two original cuts “Steelness” has a slightly tougher sound with jazzy chords and percussion stripped back to its raw elements. Hypnotic and aggressive, it’s got a straight up dance floor sound with captivating tension. Track three is the Tiger Stripes remix of “Stay Organic” and it’s an upbeat take on the original, making use of the vocals so they become a dominant feature, and adding extra ferocity to the dark atmosphere of the remix. You can listen to the full premiere of Tiger Stripes’ remix exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy !

Release date : November 5th, 2018.
