Lorenzo Bartoletti steps up for his debut on RUKUS with his ‘Monasterio’ EP, featuring two blistering originals and a star-studded, no-nonsense, remix package from Andres Campo, Darius Syrossian and Russell.

‘Monasterio’ opens with a loopy, rustling groove and hi-hats accented with chanting vocals. Moody synth notes rule amid a floating baseline, shaping tone and shifting perspective. Dedicated to his nephew, Lapo, ‘Cinque Marzo’ is awash with tight, lively, upbeat percussion and raspy, Prophet sounding pads. Middy plucks anchor the track as it winds, gathering pace and complexity.

First up on the remixes is one of Spain’s most exciting artists, Andres Campo, and his rework of the title track. Delivering peak time perfection with a pounding kick and lo-fi action, he paves the way for an epic breakdown of old and a sirenic call to the dancefloor. This remix marks the Barcelona based producer’s debut on the label also. Campo already has a huge adoring following in his home country, and has been resident of the iconic Florida 135 for 6 years now, being joined by everyone from Dax J to Rebekah to Ben Sims at the aptly named ‘techno cathedral’. This year has seen things ramp up for the charismatic DJ, with label debuts on RUKUS, Second State and Intec giving him a seat at the international techno table. You can listen to the full premiere of Andres Campo‘s remix exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy !
