DJ W!LD , founder of the W label and Catwash Records , and more recently cofounder of DAILYCID MUSIC, rise to prominence was no overnight phenomenon. Without hype or fanfare, he has grown from hero of the Parisian underground to resident at some of the world’s most acclaimed clubs. Backing up his formidable DJing skills, he has an expansive discography with more than 300 tracks released. He took some of his time to tell us about 5 incidents that defined his career. Enjoy !
1. TWILO
Twilo in New York is the first bomb club I played in my twenties. For me, it’s still one of the best clubs I’ve ever played because of the soundystem, the crowd, the energy and the DJs. The party was organized to celebrate the release of my first EP. The vibe in NYC back then… WOW… it’s just something that’s super difficult to describe .
2.RAL
In 2008, after a few years living in Brazil and touring around, I decided to get back to production and started to sign my tracks as I was already 8 years without releasing or even sending any music to anyone. And my first answer came from Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano, who released my sounds on their RAL label – which acted as the switch to become one of the most prolific producers in this business.
3. PALACE
My first Album is called Palace and this album really represented my sound and my background. It was released in 2011 on my label, The W Label, and has been remixed by Kerri Chandler, DJ Sneak, Art Department, Radio Slave, Chris Carrier and Fries and Bridges.
4. CIRCOLOCO
Circoloco at DC10 has been my best residency over the past 5 years. One of the best organisations in the best Ibiza club. With the best crowd too. The energy is so intense that you will for sure lose a few kg if you go.
5. DAILYCID
Dailycid is my last label. I came with this concept to build my brand and a crew around it by signing new and emerging talents from all around and organising showcases in London, Berlin, ADE Amsterdam or a stage at SXM festival with artists like Raresh, Traumer, Cabanne, Steve O’Sullivan, Einzelkind, Leo Pol and Cesar Merveille. The concept of the label and party is going really well and defines totally what I like and where I want to go.
