When We Dip | Premiere: Sabb on remix duty for Moraze on Instance Records

A producer who makes dark, atmospheric tribal techno of the sort that’s already endearing the likes of Sasha, NTFO, Audiojack and Rodriguez Jr, there is little doubt that Moraze is a man with momentum on his side right now. A native of France, the multifaceted DJ/producer released his debut EP, Algorhythm’ on Instance Records at the beginning of November — and is known for his intricate ability to explore the details of modern electronic music and the intersectional relationship between melody and emotion in the deeper areas of house and techno. All of which comes to the fore quite magnificently on his latest, ‘Jemna’, which sees the light of day here via the aforementioned Instance label.

The Switzerland-based, Kosovo-born DJ and producer Sabb is another many beginning to make waves thanks to his own suspense-heavy sound, the likes of which has already drawn him to acclaimed clubs such as Space Miami, Pacha and Cielo in New York, Hive in Zurich and of course, a residency at Pacha Ibiza. Indeed, Sabb’s 2014 hit, ‘Illusiones’, was one of the White Isle’s most popular cuts of 2014, and in the intervening years he’s lost none of his touch. His contribution here is a stellar one. A gentle re-rub of the original, Sabb keeps the atmosphere at a consistent level, calling on the original’s melodies but bringing the track toward more curious, house-focused planes.
