Meet Hyenah, one of the main figures at Watergate Club. Being one of the main residents at their quickly growing Afro House focused RISE events, it was long overdue to see him land his debut EP on Watergate Records.

Over the course of two originals and two reworks, Hyenah delivers a stellar package of percussion heavy, hypnotic and permanently growing cuts that will surely set any dance floor on fire in no time. Kicking things off, Hyenah joins forces with Pablo Fierro on ’Panoramica’ . With an undeniably infectious percussive arrangement they are laying the groundwork for a climactic journey of dramatic musicality culminating in a crescendo of pure rapture. A stripped down version follows as Hyenah’s ‘Raw Beat Edit’ keeps all the intensity of the original yet fixates on the main groove. ‘The Golden Cage Of Yesterday’ is up next and it’s a wild ride of ups and downs where faint vocal chants appear in-between lush harmonics and delicate arpeggios resulting in an irresistible floor filler. Wrapping things up is Da Capo’s remix of ‘The Golden Cage Of Yesterday’. The Polokwane (SA) native weaves a wild venture, utilizing all of the original elements yet turns them into an intense, tension building foray campaign exhibiting the best that the new wave of African House music can possibly offer.
