When We Dip | Premiere: Nick Curly returns to his label 8-bit with a rich tapestry of sound

Nick Curly is that most wondrous of artist: ever popular and ever relevant without chasing the bandwagon sound of now. Since breaking through 11 years ago, he’s steadily built a back catalogue of solid, dependable tracks that have allowed him to sign to Drumcode, Knee Deep in Sound, Get Physical, Cocoon and more. As a party curator, his own Trust brand has grown in stature hosting events far and wide, elevating him as a titan of the music industry.

‘Zero Love’ sees Nick return to 8-Bit, his own jointed run label which he has released on regularly since it started back in 2006. Warmth oozes from every byte as Nick expertly marries rubbery bass and crisp percussion with aching pads and stabs into a hypnotic maelstrom. On the flipside, ‘Blahskiboo’ is a joyous bouncy house workout. Guitar flecks and far off sweeps add texture as the main hook ebbs and flows throughout.
