Prima Lux mixed by Steve Mill

After many years as a music lover, record collector, DJ and producer, Steve Mill has very much fomented his own special sound. The Greek born artist, who lives between Berlin, London and Thessaloniki, draws on his cultural roots to conjure up moving melodies and body moving beats that are classically informed by greats like Armand van Helden or Daft Punk, but also look to the future. Steve just recorded a new mix for our Prima Lux series. Enjoy !

Mill has released on influential labels like Large Music, Plastic City and Moodmusic, and has more than ten years’ experience in the game. A real mainstay of the underground scene, he has also worked as a label manager at Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse Records—where he released his own singular sounds—as well as being a close musical partner of the legendary man himself.

A definite individual who does things his own way, Mill’s sound was once aptly described by RA as “blending elements of house, techno and progressive, pulled together with a dash of Balearic flavour.” It’s the same story when it comes to his journeying DJ sets, which are informed by years of collecting music and hundreds of gigs, so never fail to make a lasting impression on any floor. They take Steve to high profile gigs and music conferences around the world..

Release wise, Steve has more of his on-point gems coming on labels like Madhouse and Large Music. In the past he’s played on Boiler Room and put out a coherent and captivating full length, and every time he steps out to make or play music, he truly speaks through his sounds. It is no wonder, then, that DJs such as Ben Watt and Laurent Garner have all reached for his beats before now, and no wonder that he continues to be in demand around the world.
