After a string of strong releases throughout 2019, Oddity puts forward its first offering of the new year from Øostil. Antü Coimbra and Hugo Ibarra form the duo, who aim to evoke emotion within their audience through their minimalistic and organic sounds.

Øostil are no stranger to the label. They have already contributed tracks and remixes under their current alias and have also released an EP on Oddity under a previous moniker “Natural Flow”. But this is the first time the pair are approaching an EP for the label under the new direction…

Opening the package is the title track ‘Singularity’, a driving club track designed for peak times on the dancefloor. Characterised with complex and evolving synth lines over a lively drum pattern the track develops towards a breakdown steeped in atmosphere. Another Oddity affiliate and contributor Brian Cid puts forward a remix as the following track… a slightly slower yet more expansive take on the original.

The third offering of the EP is the second original from Øostil, ‘Placebo’. Another fast paced and high energy contribution, crafted to bring a strong air of toughness to a set. Hunter/Game make their debut on Oddity with a remix of Placebo. Again the remix provides slower more pared down take, but delivers a more emotionally charged feeling.

Closing the package is the final original from Øostil ‘Semantica’. Adopting a slower pace the first two it shows another side to the duo’s work and rounds off a very strong EP. You can listen to the full premiere of Hunter/Game‘s remix exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
