The Nick Scofield project is grounded in emotion. It’s a personal conviction that pushes the limits of what is normally possible. As an artist, Nick has the desire: to go further, to innovate, to escape and find his own place in the world. This exists contrary to his own upbringing, having pushed against the cultural limits of his emergence. 

There comes a point after many years of diligent, dedicated graft in the studio, that an artist must reveal his veracious identity. In recent years and in his own way, Nick has heavily impacted on the musical landscape, channelling his creativity through other public facing projects, but those days are at an end.

Rather than a genre, a description of a particular scene is a better introduction to Nick Scofield. It’s almost sunrise, people are comfortable in the deep groove, the tone is being set. It falls to Nick to instigate a feeling among those present….
