UMEK is back on his label 1605 with a new release made in collaboration with German artist Mark Reeve who has previously featured on other labels such as Drumcode, Second State and Terminal M.

Mark Reeve’s career lifted a gear when Sven Väth first signed him to Cocoon many years ago and since then he has also built a close relationship to others such as Pig&Dan who have also signed him to their label Elevate. This is the first time Mark Reeve has featured on 1605 and has made a statement entrance by collaborating with label boss UMEK.

2020 has been a massive year for UMEK who has not let the Covid pandemic slow down his output of new music. Someone who loves to collaborate and share ideas with other artists, this UMEK’s fourth joint release this year following others with Cosmic Boys, The YellowHeads and Teenage Mutants. In addition to his releases on 1605, UMEK has also featured on other highly influential labels such as Intec, Suara, Tronic and Filth On Acid.

The solo track titled “Message” is the perfect combination of Mark’s streamlined style and UMEK’s compelling melody. Opening with a thundering kick drum and dramatic vocals, the high-paced groove builds towards the introduction of the lead synth and its twisted euphoria. Hard hitting and full of character, this is a high calibre release that showcases two of techno’s most influential producers.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Message’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
