The first V.A sampler from Hyenah‘s Watergate 27 mix is ready. The DJ/producer is a renowned tastemaker, passionate about sounds from across the house spectrum. For his addition to the Watergate mix canon, he selects an inspiring range of artists, while highlighting emerging African and Afro Deutsch talent.

Amongst the exclusive collection of tracks is Kollektive Turmstrasse’s spiralling deep melodic makeover of Adana Twin ‘Jupiter’, while Sabb & Black Circle’s ‘Vega’ brings the uplifting piano house vibes. RISE crew member JAMIIE links with Stil Vor Talent associate Niko Schwind for ‘Suwedi’, a fascinating seven- minute trip that builds drama and intrigue in equal parts thanks to the soaring string break in the break. Emmanuel Satie collaborates with vocalist Nanghiti for ‘Forever More’ a startling track that will take your breath away, as delicate pads and strings amplify the emotion from Nanghiti’s unforgettable vocal.

The ever-reliable Sascha Braemer delivers a pearl of a track with ‘No Way’, one of those cuts made for end-of-night moments, resplendent with tear-jerker vox. Rising South African artist Da Capo contributes one of those stirring, string-laden melodic house compositions that every DJ needs. Complimenting the emotion-charged energy of the sampler, Soweto’s Fka Mash has crafted ‘Hazel’, a beautiful chord-driven addition, that still packs plenty of low-end chunk with its percussion.
