Volen Sentir, the Moscow duo who are best known for their ethnic house sounds and releases across the likes of Lost & Found and All Day I Dream are well and truly putting them on the radar of many fans around the world. We invite them to our interview series to share their words on their new ‘live’ direction they are heading, to reflect on their Magic Forest live session and how they are very much looking forward to hopefully soon touring around the world again.

WWD: Thanks for joining us. Where are you currently and what have you been up to in early 2021?

Cheers guys. We are at the foot of the mountain right now. Working on our live show. Researching new stuff.

WWD: Last year was a tough year for everyone. What did you have planned and what did you do with your time?

Oh that’s quite a productive time. Perhaps in that time we started to move on to the next level. Planning to make live with musicians, and film a live video. And ofcourse new stuff.

WWD: Tell us more about your Magic Forest stream. It was a great spectacle. Is it a teaser for more to come this year?

As we told before. Yes we are preparing for a full live show. Magic Forest is the way to show up what we stand for also. We love to play DJ sets as well, but also we love to play live.

WWD: Please, tell us more about your creative process. How do you both work together when performing, and writing music?

That’s a process that is different every time. One of us standing at the controls and keyboard parts, another is playing with FX and controls all sound processes with musicians. But next time we can change everything. Same in producing. Each of us can make beats and loops and the same with melodies.

WWD: You guys have committed to going very much ‘Live’ with your performance and music. What prompted you for this change?

To play your own music is pure bliss. To play your own music with live musicians is pure happiness.

WWD: In the future, where would you like to perform live, are there any dream locations or venues?

Our world is big. A lot of places where we want to be. It can be north or south, east or west.
Let’s keep these thoughts in our mind 🙂

WWD: What are some of the key pieces of advice you have received, what was the most important?

Follow the signs. Listen to your heart!

WWD: What is the one wish you both have for 2021?

There are few. But ok, let’s choose what is important not only for us: Touring around the Globe again.
