RUKUS returns with another fresh release from Matador, this time in the form of his mammoth Eightball EP. Matador is a new school techno pioneer who has consistently served up hard hitting beats with plenty of synth invention and infectious rhythms. While the last year has been unprecedented for the live music industry, the Dublin producer has shown no let-up in his creativity and musical output as this new one shows.
The title track ‘Eightball’ is an infectious groove with a plucky 101 lead line, and rolling melodies peppered with tribal chants. It’s pure dance floor gold. Then, on ‘Higher,’ a pumping bassline alongside seductive vocals and captivating synth work enthrals the listener and dances with the subconscious.
